Sendakro is a fantasy world created by me, Yasemin Baran. It came to life in the fall of 1998, when I drew a red dragon during literature class and decided to write a novel after staring at it for few minutes.
Since then I have been creating a whole new world from scratch with history, myths, heroes, villains, variety of races, nations, maps.... the list goes on and on. I have recently celebrated (on my own) the 11th year of Sendakro's creation, this year (2010) being the 12th, in fall.
Sendakro was born after I discovered fantasy literature through Dragonlance first, then Lord of the Rings and Forgotten Realms. It's highly influenced by Advanced Dungeons & Dragons games. It started off as a generic fantasy world, but as years passed on, I got to read different types of fantasy and I -obviously- matured and started adding more original and unique ideas.
So far I have started writing 2.5 novels and the creation of the world; and finished several short stories and letters. The past 6 years I have barely written a single word -thank you school. But the story of Sendakro is still unwrapping.
This year, as a part of my graduation project, I am revamping Sendakro and introducing it to the public. As an illustration student who wants to get into entertainment industry for video games and film as concept artist, I will be using Sendakro to create a video game. Since I already created a lot of ideas about this world in the past, I will be using it, and at the same time improving, with this graduation project.
And this is where this blog comes into play.
I will be creating various designs for my Sendakro video game project. The story is very cliche, good vs. evil, but for the project's sake I don't want to spend too much time worrying about the small details in the story and start designing already.
I will be using this blog to share the art and keep them together in one place. The project will end in December 2010, when my graduation is due so, this should be fun!
